I'm with Hideous on that last statement. Anyway, Golden Sun was good, but come on. It was just more of the same. It's not on the same level as EB and MOTHER 3.

Woah! I love this game. I never knew such quality could come from the GBA.
Have you ever played Golden Sun? No.

Have you ever played Golden Sun? No. That would explain your first statement. Also, Golden Sun was fairly generic, but it had excellent design. The dungeons and story were both fantastic.

I never played any games in the Mother series. There are a thousand sequels I want more than Mother. Good Secret of Mana sequel, anyone? *grumble grumble*
secret of mana had at least two sequels

I'm playing Mother 3, though.

Man, am I glad that I have a slot-2 card to play this on.
It's a shame that Nintendo for whatever reason won't localize this even though I have seen it at the top of every hardcore Nintendo fan's list of most wanted games. Damn, sometimes Nintendo seems like they make some of the most boneheaded decisions when it comes to trying to please their fans.
Oh yes, I totally want the companion as well.

This is true, I have no idea why. I mean, I'd buy it like a shot. I mean, even Yahtzee, who often rants about how much he hates Japanese rpgs, has said he does like the Earthbound games. Earthbound is just a good series, yet the English-speaking world often doesn't get such stuff. I really don't know why.

Honestly, it wouldn't really sell that well here. Unless they released it as a compilation with all three games to provide context.

For anyone who has palyed a little enough on Mother 3, you would know why nintendo, given their family friendly policies, wouldn't bring it to the states and neighbors.

I'm pretty confident that this one scene where you first follow the railtracks is THE reason why Nintendo skipped on this one.

Just chiming in to say that Golden Sun is the only JRPG I ever beat. List of some played JRPGS: Earthbound, Lufia 1 & 2, FF1,3,7,8, The World Ends With You.

Basically, Lucas gets raped by a magic transvestite to awaken his PSI powers, one of which is "PK Love"

I'm pretty confident that this one scene where you first follow the railtracks is THE reason why Nintendo skipped on this one. add to the equation the spoilerific magical beings and their apparent method to release someone's hidden power. oh and that scene where a guy finds certain item on a certain horribly unfortunate place on chapter 1; they could edit the dialogue, but i fear they'd screw up the mood of the scene.
