Just a few shots from my game, Super Obelisk. The first one is part of a falling-down-a-pit sequence. The second shows some bugs crawling up the player because he's been standing still. Man, I just love how this game looks and how well and fast it's coming together. But something about the grayness of roofs bothers me and creates a single gray blob in places. Have you tried red roof tiles?

Soldiers in training: remoev the blury shadow undearneath the guys it looks horible In other words, how about switching the soft/blob shadows into a more crisper one like the targets above. That should make the art look a bit more consistent across the piece, but otherwise the screenshot looks great!

Have you tried red roof tiles? Thanks Eigen! It's coming along, the major systems are all in place, and now I'm stuck in UI land as you can see from my screenshots. Great point about the roof tiles - the gray tiles are consistent, but once you put them all together, maybe a little too consistent. We'll take a look at adding some variation, and something not as desaturated. Dark brick red sounds pretty cool, actually!
