Another journey begins!
This time a small project. And I mean small.

A HTML 5 game built with Phaser, a JS framework that looks and feels great.
I played around with the tutorial you get when you download it from github and was convinced that it was enough to have me start a whole project using it.

I would have gone with unity but boy is unity bulky. Plus it only supports WebGL (even for 2D games) and I'm trying to create a HTML 5 game.

Anyway,
down to business

THE GAME?
A casual platformer (yeah, I know. But I explore genres. Maybe it will be fun).

Look out for more meaningful posts soon.

Here's a sketch of the idea I have in mind.

And here we go. Meet sleepy... guy... player.

First look at the main player.

Kept it simple on the graphics. Might revise it later on.

I just want to get prototyping ASAP.

I participated in the recent Ludumdare 33. And if there's anything that I learned of importance, it was that you need to prototype immediately.  Hand Any Key  Hand Joystick

Polishing is where the battle is won or lost, but without a reasonable prototype, your efforts in trying to polish will be as effective as trying to apply deodorant on a rotting corpse. (Messed up... I know... I'm sorry)

I have re-read some phaser tutorials and so I'm that much more confident using it. It's pretty neat. Here's a small title screen I managed to quickly put together after todays' little frustrations trying to understand the framework a little more.

this casual game is happening  Well, hello there!

Been off this project for a bit, but I'm back on it. Determined to finish it!!!

Maybe it's because I'm a Phaser noob, but that documentation is just so complicated. But anyway, thanks to the guys at Html5gamedevs, learning Phaser has been a blast.

Collisions work! yay!

So the gist of the game is pretty simple: The sleep walking is always in motion. tap the left or right of him to switch directions. Thats it! Simple huh?
Evil you don't know me very well. Muwahahahahahahahaha
anyway
