But it's always been a balancing act. Without a weapon there is the sense of dread and urgency. The hero is robed of his closest combat ally.
Indeed! But I might argue that rocks and sticks can add to that--while likely better than bare fists, they're likely to be far worse than a keen sword, and so there might still be an air of desperation to them. Imagine throwing rocks at a monster to get it to flinch long enough for you to dash for your blade, or thumping a foe with a stick, hoping that the latter won't break before you defeat the former.
I imagine real combat to be filled with these moments of fear then a rush of triumph when you turn the tide. And it's those experiences we're most keen on landing.
That does sound like quite a neat experience to go for! I hope that you succeed in it. ^_^
But, I hear you... a nearby rock or stick, etc would add another dimension to things... a feeling of out-smarting the game b/c you were calm enough to look around, grab what was nearby and make use of it.
If time allows there a good chance we'll add it.
Fair enough! ^_^
FWIW, you can already kick dirt / snow at opponents or ground clutter.
Ah, that's good to read! That seems like it could be a useful feature indeed.
