Coming 2013 to ios and android About a month ago we started working on our second game title "Adventure Town" and thought it would be fun to this time document our progress in a devlog here on Tigsource. It's still early days, so we dont have that much to show yet, but that should hopefully change very soon The game is going to be a topdown city building/management game with some light rpg elements on top. players are tasked with the job of expanding their city while keeping it save from monster attacks. it's being developed in Unity3d by a team of 3 people and we plan to release it for ios and Android. heres a sneak preview of some of the buildings Adventure Town also has a facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/AdventureTownwhere we plan to post updates. anyway hope you like it cheers, Ken

very nice stuff. that windmill is very clever indeed. i think i would make those stairs on the tower transparent.

blinkok: might model the stairs instead, as the material for the buildings wont support transparency. heres all 3 stages of the blacksmith building

I've seen your models over at Polycount and your low-poly stuff is always so inspiring! Beautiful textures, keep up the good work, and I shall be watching this : D

I love the lowpolyness, not sure what you are going for but I personally get a great retroish vibe from it. Judging from the preview in your first post, I think it might look nice to put some outlines on them.

I was just getting ready to say this. The wireframe-y outline in the first picture actually looks nicer than without, to me.

Great textures.
That's the key for mobile platforms.
And you have it.
Good.

I like how you can clearly tell with one glance what each of the buildings are (windmill, bakery, blacksmith, and something that looks like it has to do with magic). I'll be curious to see what each of there purposes are.

Thanks guys Heres a quick screenshot from the current build everything is still very rough and not all of the textures are final, but it should hopefully give you an idea of how the game will play.

most buildings in the game will be upgradable, not only will the buildings stats change, but also the way they look. here are a few we have finished.

they looks fantastic. i really like how consistent each type is. when they are placed in the environment they look a bit like they are just sitting on top of the ground rather than connected to it. maybe some grass texture around the bottom edge here and there might help to connect it with the ground.

thanks guys here's the local fishmonger and lumbermill blinkok: agree, currently they dont connect that well with the ground, the grass texture is just a placeholder though, so it should hopefully look better when that has been updated.

Awesome artwork! The hero sprites kind of remind me of the game Coffee Break Hero. Can't wait to see more of this.
