Yeah time just wasn't enough for me. Sad
But I manged to do that screen effect and I'll make a tutorial about it, so this effort wasn't useless, and of course it counts towards development SAQ.

Okay so this'll be my entry for YMTR.

Stories of Askii World:
Youth of Sir Askii

Actually this is a spinoff/prequel to my current "secret" project Sir Askii's quest, so I have basics of the engine already done. I'm shooting for 2 hours of intense development and I'll post a exe of what I have done today. cööl

I won't be using the Nounlist rule
More text coming spoon.

1.10.2011

Things done:
- Engine (almost)
- Stairs (looks like crap)
- Ropes (was hard)
- Springs, ladders

And here's a techy demo. Contains most major gameplay elements implemented. Except sword. Because there's no way to change weapons.

Okay so i used 1,5 hours to implement this  Well, hello there!

And those green lines you see there, they're to make level editing easier.

[EDIT] Let there be scanlines! And God saw it was good.

What's with everyone's obsession with scan-lines lately?

I like the combo of ascii art + scanlines + rounded screen.  I can't ever think of an ascii game I played on a TV screen so it's kinda cool to see what it would be like.

Yup it's game maker. I'm considering to write a tutorial on surface deformations (to create cool effects Noir)

What I did today was some tweaking stuff and I added hats and fireballs. And a dummy wizard who shoots fireballs every 2 seconds. I call it Jimmy.
