I'm starting an intimidatingly large project with some friends with a very distinct style. The game's characters are, in short, "tribal" and the setting is in otherworldly mountains. I'm looking for some examples of music you cats think would go with this so I can get some reference material. Any ideas, please bring them forth!

K thanks!

Hey Liam,

Sounds like a cool project. Do tell us more about it when there's more to tell!

I love me some Balinese Gamelan:

Watch the whole thing, it gets really crazy!

Here's some awesome Arabic Takht music for you:

Can't hurt to check out some typical Arabic rhythms - the most prominent instrument is the Darbuka, here's the start of a series of lessons I can recommend:

Anytime I hear "tribal" the little kid in me always immediately hears a didjeridu:

They can be gotten at most bigger music stores (or on hippy-friendly beaches everywhere) and are not terribly difficult to learn to play -- and a lot of fun, as well...
