LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF TIGSOURCE

IT'S ME! IMPMASTER! (Who?...) AND I'M MODERATELY EXCITED TO
START THIS DEVLOG FOR THE GREATEST GAME YOU'LL EVER SEE OF ALL TIME!

Mock Anger Mock Anger Mock Anger Mock Anger Mock Anger Mock Anger

For real tho, this is my lil winter project. It's a challenging bullet hell, where your character is a gun. Recoil is the only way you can move, and also the only way you can eliminate enemies. Get the points and avoid the enemies as long as you can. It'll get faster and faster!

So far, I'm working on making the controls feel responsive and tight. Right now I just have the main character as a rigidbody and I add force to it. This feels way too floaty, so I'm testing alternatives. Anyone got any examples of shmups which allowed the player to rotate using arrow keys?

Looks fun. Do you have to stay inside the black circle, or is that just graphical?
Could get super over the top with explosions n stuff. good luck.

Mixer, you have to stay inside the black circle. Collision's a little glitchy right now.

I'm currently sitting alone in an airport on Christmas because snow led to my first plane having a 3 hour delay, so I guess I'll work on this instead of seeing my family....  Cry

I'm trying to make the movement feel more comfortable, and so I changed the camera to rotate in the direction the player is facing. I'll have to add some Tweening.

there's a cheap game on steam (it got a pretty good reception and i really enjoyed playing it) that has a really case gameplay, you should look into it: Spingun

I added a camera which follows the player, added random offsets to the bullets, added a Timer, made the enemies bigger, fixed various bugs.

I'd highly appreciate it if someone could playtest the controls and tell me if they're too confusing or not.

I uploaded it on Itch.io.
