Also no, Cloud is not that overpowered XD it's just that his combos are very flashy compared to Link's, but you can kick his arse with Link more or less equal. The main difference is that Link is a "tool user", meaning that he uses mainly tools to attack such as arrows, bombs, boomerang etc, and has a long range for attacking, while Cloud is more the "heavy" type, he can use his attacks to slam the opponent very strongly but has very short range, he has Fire materia and Blade Beam for long range attacks but they are much slower than Link's long range attacks.
