Judging by that render (as terrible as I think it looks) I take it that players will be able to transform into Super Rick from Splatterhouse 3.

THIS Super Rick? I hope that is Super Rick and not regular Rick. He looks like the Incredible Hulk! And Rick should be a man... a frightening, extremely muscular man, but a man nonetheless.

i like how in the ad it says that it's "the kind of game rating systems were invented for"
and yet nowhere on the ad does it accually contain a rating.
that ad is hilarious though
and as for the update picture alone, i smell "badass" and caked on bloom lighting.. prove me wrong. please.

well when splatterhouse 3 was out for the sega megadrive there was no ESRB, videogames ratings were self made so there wasn't a "standard" Anyway the first two Splatterhouse were basically two normal beat 'em up, only the third one offered the player a way to go around the level in a non linear manner and using also a map The first survival horrors for me are Clock Tower and Alone in the Dark, Splatterhouse 3 had too much a beat'em up approach.. but i loved this game! the "rasta" rick is the super version on splatterhouse 3, this one seems the normal one (because the mask)but with an hulkish look. If the game will have half the violence of splatterhouse 3 would be cool.

i know,.. but my point was that there hadn't been a rating system invented yet.. so the comment in the ad is funny.

Rick is a man, the kind of man that eats your soul so that he can balloon in size and shoot tentacles made of flesh at rubes. Like if the warden from The Story Of Riki ate some really bad Mexican whilst he transforms.

Well, that was unexpected! I'm intrigued. I never liked the gameplay of the original (didn't play the 2nd and 3rd because of that) so I hope the new one is going to be at least playable.

I was hoping they'd revive this at some point. Like all next-gen remakes, there's always the big chance that it'll suck, but there's still that small glimmer of hope that it might be awesome!

I just played through Splatterhouse 3 on genesis... YES. NEW SPLATTERHOUSE COMING! Seriously, how can I have missed that title for so long? So yeah, I didn't have a genesis when it came out and I didn't like the first but come on, the third title has soooo much potential it's exciting! I am now a fan!

Not too keen on the new monster designs, they look too.. I dunno, generic. The original games had a classic look going on with the monsters which made them actually look like monsters, not aliens.

Yeah, I have to agree. I was hoping that there would be more subtlety in the design. This looks like it was hit with a few too many splashes of Mountain Dew...
