...ended up with this. Seriously, the concept is a bit weird, in my opinion, but what truly affects me is the following: ...Ed Boon said that Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe will not have fatalities. How can it be MK without fatalities? I could totaly picture Superman finaly using his full power on a victim. Or anyone ripping Robin apart. Oh well...

So this is the embodiment of the lameness of mainstream comics in video game form?

In theory, I should've been quite annoyed with the game, but ever since that Star wars/Soul calibur thing, I just think this is funny. In a bad way.

*yawn* old news
Comic book fans are pissed because the MK charecters couldn't touch any of the big name DC charecters.
Mortal Kombat fans are pissed because they're taking away what made mortal kombat stand out.
Game fans are pissed because Middway haven't made a decent game in over 10 years.
Eh, looks like fail all around.

Probably thinking of Acclaim! Midway has been busy making such acclaimed (no pun intended) titles as Area 51: Black something or other and...jesus I have no idea what else. A friend worked on Area 51 is the only reason I remember it. One of the last-gen MK games was reasonably well-received I think? Bleak.

Bleak.
They've been having fairly major losses though, wouldn't be supprised if they went bankrupt. Man I remember when Midway games used to be the shit. NBA Jam was just so fucking cool.

I've heard some pretty nasty horror stories about either Midway or Acclaim.
Which one wanted to legally change the name of five 'lucky' kids to Turok for a whole year?

Oh well... that article is over a month old, there's a new one on the frontpage: "In the first Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe FAQ, I mentioned that there would not be fatalities in this crossover fighting game. It turns out that Ed Boon is back-peddling, saying that he was misquoted on the matter." http://www.hadoukenonline.com/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-modified-fatalities/

Ed Boon says that we won’t be able to these “same kinds of outrageous moves”, but they will be “modifying fatalities. But I have every intention to keep finishers.” Well it's a start, I suppose. Since this seems to be old news, are there some other atrocities that I missed so far?

If it were MK vs. Marvel we would have fatalities. They aren't afraid to have their heroes die horribly.

If it's anything like the MKs past the second, it's gonna be utterly annoying.

Hundreds of ugly, badly-designed characters most people could care less about, a mythology and universe that simply doesn't make any sense...

That's got to be the worst crossover ever. Midway should just quit already.

Fixed.
