A lot of people seem to think part of the melody is ripped from pacman. I haven't played pacman or it's thousands of clones recently enough to remember the theme, but I was wondering about the tigsource opinion. IS this the pacman theme, or are the people who think it is just crazy?
That aside, Pacman Rock sounds like something out of the VGNG. Someone should gameify it.

It sounds a bit like it but believe me it's not. I spent the last month and a half listening to the Pacman theme day-in day out and that is not it. But the start is similar, that's for sure.

He's porting it to a different console, 1980's style. Bingo. I had to port it for work so I had to analize the whole game first and then I had to make sure our game was exactly the same, which of course, include listening to that pacman intro over and over again (the official Namco game we had as a reference didn't allow us to turn on or off music and sfx)

I work as lead designer at a game studio that focuses on creating games for in-flight entertainment systems, like in airplanes and certain rental cars. We do a lot of ports and some in-house products. It's a small market to work in but it's fun none the less

The company's name is DTI but only few of my games are flying (mostly on japanese airlines). I have been working there for only a year now so most of the titles I worked on are going to fly only in a few months.

I didn't know Byrne was prog rock. Actually, I never heard the term until now. But you don't have to apologize for musical taste.

I taught you how to pacman rock, but then you go and turn around and break my heart, you waste my pacman time, and mess up my pacman mind.

Paccyborg would be a pretty awesome game. You could like, use a cursor to manipulate the environment and accidentally kill pacman in a large variety of ways involving his shoulder-mounted missile launchers and and kites and apples and hang-gliders.

Close enough to prog rock that I don't like it. It's not stupidly overcomplicated for no reason so I guess that was my mistake on that call there.
