I would love to start programming games myself, but I know nothing about programming. Could somebody help me out?

It's long, but covers most of what you need to know.  If you can't get through it, frankly, you probably won't make it too far as a programmer, as it's a profession that requires a TON of reading.

Also, it doesn't cover GameMaker, Flash, etc... know even though it is long, it is by no means comprehensive.  There are about as many options for game development as there are stars in the sky.
