Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is actually surprisingly good (or not so surprisingly, considering it's designed by the guy who created X-COM)

What's interesting is how closely the newest X-Com plays to GR:SW.  Turn execution, character classes, special skills, etc. are all very close.

I got Shadow Wars during the sale after hearing how much it's like XCOM. It just feels dated compared to XCOM though. I was a little disappointed after playing and beating XCOM for the PC, but I'll probably play it eventually.

Beating SMT IV on neutral, I have to say it was a really fun game. Recommended for any RPG fan on 3DS. IMO the thing that was lacking is a waypoint system to keep track of where quests are located. That and a built in way to avoid weak demons - considering you have 100% flee chance Estoma Sword is way too limited.

Europe not getting Rune Factory 4:
www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-20-3ds-rpg-rune-factory-4s-european-release-cancelled

Now, it's not the best game or anything, but still, how unfortunate.
When will Ninty lift this region lock crap?

Well, Skulls of the Shogun was on sale recently, that seems pretty fun and strategical as well as indie and western.
this gam has way too much tutorial text in the beginning that kills the game

Has anyone played the new Yoshi game?

I beat it like 20 minutes ago.

It's definitely better then YIDS but it's REALLY WEIRD at the start to get used to. The controls feel... different compared to the other yoshi games, it's kinda hard to explain? They take a bit to get used to so like the entire world 1 is going to be ugh. It improves once you get used to the controls though.

The music is nothing to write home about. Some pretty bad songs here and there, and they overuse the main melody but it's not terrible.

The level design feels pretty good though.

Also good luck getting 100%, I don't think I could do it, I don't have the patience for it  WTF

Overall: It's OK, not as good as Yoshi's Island, videos don't do it justice at all, the backgrounds are rly nice looking, the gameplay and level mechanics that aren't vehicles are alright. Apparently using the gyroscope to aim eggs is really good, haven't tried them myself.

I'd probably recommend waiting for a price drop before getting it? Unless you absolutely want to get it or something.

Going back to the 100% thing, I am not joking when I say it's REALLY HARD to do. It requires mastery of the controls and game-play and for the Special/Extra levels, it requires you to basically NOT get hit ever. It is BRUTAL I think.

That's my thoughts on the game.

It looks pretty similar to MMZ with the jump dashing and shooting his gun perfectly horizontally. I was waiting patiently for him to slash some guys with a sword but that didn't happen. What'd you see that makes you think it's that much different?

It looks like it could be cool and the graphics look neat, but the video didn't give me a sense of what to expect in the game other than some speedy platforming. Maybe when there's more information I can get more excited about it.

more focus on "fluid" movement and combat maybe, kinda like one of those "character action" or whatever you call em games in 2D?

idk maybe i was just thrown off by the big combo multiplier

Anyone played Prof Layton Vs Phoenix Wright? Haven't picked up a PL game in a long time.
Also I'm enjoying FE: Awakening but it's a little easy compared to other games in the series, which is disappointing but it's still fun.
