Kilig: you made me laugh so hard with the name of your character! You really nailed it, I wish I could see him turned into a game! Heck, a game? Even a whole franchise! I want my own El Pulpo mug and towel as soon as possible, so better get working on it! jsx2007: Very nice tune, especially after the main theme comes back with some delay, I really like the whole retro/chip aspect of it, good work!

I'm thinking of making a theme for the prince in Katamari. It's basically going to contain some notes from "Katamari on the Rocks". I'm thinking it's either going to be moody and jazzy like this quick thing I made or J-pop style.

Knowing (and loving) your Super Ubi theme, no wonder you're so hyped about that! (Jokes aside though, I catch myself listening to that track again and again, it's just addictive beyond all reason...)

Hi, first post here! Enjoyed writing this little piece and listening to everybody else's! The character I chose was Mario. I wanted something kinda different for him, to express his "true nature". His princess gets kidnapped ad-nauseum, so he proceeds on a lonely journey through cartoon-y worlds brutalising anything in his path. All for a girlfriend who spends more time with his enemy than him. Ughh, never knew Super Mario Bros. could be so depressing... I went with a typical AABA type theme, but wanted each section (except the last) to be unresolved, (Mario finishes a world, but of course our princess is in another castle) and then repeats itself. http://soundcloud.com/8th-mode-music/marios-theme

@8th Node : the theme is astonishing. I feel it adds a lot of "serious" into the adventure of Mario. I like how it suddenly feel like there's is nothing joyful having your girlfriend kidnapped by someone else.

@8th mode: i felt like i was playing fable for the first time again, that was beautiful i can imagine it more for a twisted sort of mario spin off, like alice or epic mickey, a more dark vision of the character but not in a classic mario title.

Kilig: noun. It is the sudden feeling of an inexplicable joy one gets when something romantic or idealistic occurs. I don\'t think there\'s an English word or phrase for it. even Butterfly Stomach doesn\'t do justice to \"kilig\".

Thanks guys! but not in a classic mario title.
Yeah, Koji Kondo's music always makes me feel inherently happy, I thought I'd be fun to just mess with that, a "noir-io" if you will.

Like many other, ive been just an observer of this site. this is my first post. Ive been writing a story for a year now...this has given me the motivation and courage to make music for the protagonist. The story begins at a climax or the end of a typical RPG protagonist journey. The story is about a prince who kills the princess he was meant to save from Boss/antagonist. When he returns, the now died princess, he is banished from the kingdom by the king.[someone had witness him killing the princess and told the kingdom before the protagonist returned]He becomes a wanderer. Without trying to give away anything, you the reader [or player] back track in time to see why this happens and who was the person who saw him kill her. Protagonist is named Säär [or Shaar] The Savior because he has saved many other once before. http://soundcloud.com/megazoneex/s-r-the-savior-the-wanderer

I am at work right now so I can't listen to new tracks at the moment but the story is really interesting! On the other hand, is Friday at midnight the end of the challenge? Or at twelve?

Alrighty, here we go. My first entry in a Musical Challenge. The character I chose was Goemon, from the Mystical Ninja series. Since he is fairly well known, I'll give my reasons for choosing him instead of a character description. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on the N64... I LOVED this game growing up. Between the gameplay, the music and the oddball humor, it was hard not to. I STILL listen to the music, even after hearing the songs loop thousands upon thousands of times. While I strove to write a strong upbeat theme for Goemon, my main goal was to make the song sound and feel like it could have been part of the actual soundtrack for Mystical Ninja on the N64. This meant matching the overall tonality of the instruments. Once I accomplished that, everything else fell into place, and this was the result. http://soundcloud.com/bert-cole-1/goemons-theme-tigsourceI'm pleased with the outcome. Hopefully other Goemon fans will be too! Thanks for listening!

Thought I'd finally submit my entry :D http://soundcloud.com/trurkowski/frynicFrynic: Faceless TravelerFrynic is an immortal nomad who travels on a large bird. His only goal is to explore the world, and witness change as time flows by. He is completely uninterested in the day to day interactions of humans, and generally avoids conflict. He often ends up in ancient ruins, piecing together the history of the surrounding area. When he is satisfied with his understanding of the area, he moves on. Side Note:To be honest, while I did create the song with this character in mind, I'm not sure if this works more as an introduction rather than a theme. Oh well Cheers

@Yoshimitsu How long of an extension would you need? I would be willing to grant it if it was not to long.
@Peregrinus If there was a short extension would you be able to submit a piece?
