I recorded synth sounds using miscellaneous VSTs in Orion, stretched them using Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch (it can stretch a 5 minute piece of audio to over 5000 years long in "HyperStretch" mode Shocked) and then did various layering, filtering and processing etc. in Adobe Audition.
