Hello. I'd like to make games, but it seems I'm out of luck. You see, I merely have a 10.5, non intel mac. I don't get any allowance, so I can't buy a windows, and because of my OS, I can't emulate windows either. So is there any way to make fun games with just a regular mac, and no coding experience?

Stencyl http://www.stencyl.com/about/An easy game creation engine that supports all forms of Mac (and Windows and Linux). Still not released yet, but coming close to the closed beta, so it'll be some wait.

Stencyl Heh, Stencyl :D You know, Stencyl might be interesting if the creators actually released some info about it. Or even a short demo of anything that's actually been made with Stencyl. Why are there no screenshots or details?
As a startup, we're currently operating in "stealth mode" and will not disclose any screenshots, videos or detailed information until we launch. "Stealth mode," gimme a break

Raw c/c++ with opengl
You can download GCC but I think it comes built in on the machine.

Flash/Flex. I'm in the same situation. Or, for a slightly lower barrier-to-entry, Processing for Java.

Apple's developer tools are free (developer.apple.com), and it is possible to compile windows software from a macintosh pretty easily by installing a program called "mingw". Of course this assumes you're using C++, which someone with no coding experience likely would not be...
Have you looked into Flash?

Didn't Apple try to push Objective-C as their platform language of choice for a while? Never had much experience with it, but its advocated praise the language. From what I've seen it looks relatively messy and to have some shortcomings compared to C++.

If you're coding in java, it doesn't matter what type of system you're working on. jGame FTW: http://www.13thmonkey.org/~boris/jgame/Of course, you had better be comfortable writing java apps before you try to tackle a game.

Isn't it possible to install the actual Windows operating system on a modern-day Mac? I mean like, in a dual-boot configuration? I don't have a Mac, but I have a friend who has a MacBook who has done this. On Windows, of course, for newbies I would recommend Multimedia Fusion, or Game Maker if you are lame I kid, I kid, Game Maker is teh sex. EDIT: Oh nevermind, I just realized you said your Mac was non-Intel... sux

Maybe install Linux, and run Game Maker with Wine? Better yet, put Linux in a virtual machine, and run Game Maker with Wine.

3) Use a platform independent language and overcome the limits.

That's windows only, currently. Mac support coming eventually I guess, so it goes in the same bin as game maker. Processing is a pretty accessible choice, it's java-based and very quick to get started with.
