This cover doesn't really work for me. Japan usually had 'manga' styled covers. Then there was the US release which usually meant shit covers. Then there was the EU release where they either polished the turd up, or just used the original Japanese covers. Since I'm in Sweden, this cover isn't really playing on any of my nostalgia strings.

Maybe Americans have been forcefed shit to the point where they think it's kinda cute and funny. ...Admittedly, I think the cover is kinda funny as well. It must be the Americanification getting to me. Regardless, the cover is excellent from a marketing viewpoint.

Check out the covers for the Playstation Rockman re-release. They kinda play on Rockmans's roots, 60's manga.

I have a few interesting images saved (gellery-unlockables). They appear to be concept art, possibly for the first game. Then there's some retro-manga styled pinups. Since they're 224x160 they might be for the GBA? I don't think that anniversary game was released.
