Assembly 2008 the annual demo scene / computer festival party is being held in Helsinki July 31st to August 3rd.

Any TIGers participating Assembly or Boozembly this year?

I know that siiseli is coming. And I'll be there from Thursday to Friday. (I'm going to miss all the best combos, which sucks hard).

But if there are other people coming, maybe we could organize a small meeting or something.

Btw. Does anyone know where the Boozembly is being held this year, since they've build a road where the Boozembly rocks used to be? The Boozembly rocks used to be a legendary place, they had a BBQ build especially for the event from bricks and cement.

I'd go if I wasn't stupidly afraid of meeting new people. I live pretty much 15 minutes away.

It would be sweet if both you could make, though Smiley

Phil, there's a free couch for you if you ever make it! Even though the traditions of Assembly are such that if you need to sleep, you sleep at your computer place.

I just realized that this is the tenth Assembly for me. I haven't even been to all of them. I feel old...

Alright, I'll go, but on one condition: Somebody has to buy the plane tickets for me.
For reference, I live in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada.
Round trip is a must.
Economy class is fine.

You all should come!

@haowan: The Lifeforce demo is pretty sick. I remember watching it at the Assembly 2007 and we were wondering how long does this thing last. And when you thought it was over, it just had even more cooler shit to show.

Now I'm hooked at looking up old demos from the YouTube... This is one my

Those people are amazing, especially the people who win those contests. I know it's a different set of skills, but to me they make game programmers look like amateurs. I'd love to have even a fraction of their talent.

As an aside, I heard that Will Wright hired a bunch of people from the demoscene to help with the procedural graphics generation in Spore. I'm looking forward to that game in part for that reason.

Dude, Petri, if you've been there 10 times, haven't you been there every time since you were 15 or something?!

I was there once for one day, when I was 12. But I've been there pretty much since I was 14.

I've been to assembly every year since I was 12 or 11, can't remember. That's not too many years though, since I'm a 15-year-old brat :D
