I always had this little ditty in my head based off of a cliché drum sequence, so I decided to whip open FamiTracker and put it in. This was a few years ago. Now I may finally use it and have been wondering what extra work it needs.

Should I remove the triangle pulses and leave it depth-less? Remove percussion altogether? WHAT? I need the criticism for this.

Or would this have been better off in the Workshop?

A five second splash screen, pretty much.

I don't know, there's just nothing that really excites me about your jingle. (Apart from the fact that it's a neat 7/8, but that's just my music nerdiness.)

A jingle should grab the listener's attention, like "Hey listen, this stuff is really cool".
Maybe putting a nice evolving/rising sound around this could help. Do you absolutely need to keep it this lo-fi?

That is a good point. Yes, it is to be lo-fi (as much as I don't quite want to be part of the cliché) since the game is to resemble older MAME hardware, so maybe a few squares and one noise could do or simple OPN-style FM.
