How can I improve?

List of problems/comments:
  • Corner tiles need to be "square" because of the way the physics engine is designed.
  • I don't like the player's tail. How can I make it look better?

I want to stay with this style. I recieved many positive comments about the colors and I like it.

The colors used are 4:
White -> "dynamic" objects
50% alpha black -> background objects
Black -> "static" objects
Constantly changing color -> background

first thing I noticed was that you're using #000000 blacks, and #ffffff whites. I would suggest going a little more subtle; it'll make everything easier to look at. #000000 and #ffffff together can even hurt some people's eyes.

I would also add some bent blades to the grass tile to make it look more dynamic

I agree 100%

A game with a very simple visual style and a small palette can work, but you have to give the player something to look at. There has to be some charm to be found somewhere. I would suggest giving your characters fluid, overstated animations. It would be extremely easy given your character sprites, and would give us something pretty to watch. Also, if you're going to make a game grey, be sure there's a reason it's grey. You want players to become immersed in the visual style, not just think you're lazy. Wink

Good luck!

I definitely agree. It's a lot easier on the eyes, and looks cleaner.

I don't agree, my eye don't focus anymore, it feel dull and diluted, But I guess it's due to natural bright contrast to where I lives Huh?
