And frankly your sarcasm doesn't invalidate the sovereignity argument.

the uk already had sovereignty, as evidenced by their ability to hold this vote

to me the greatest possible move you could make in opposition to get the electorate on side in the face of an impending unelected prime minister is to signal to them unequivocally that you don't give a shit about democracy or what they think about anything

The people of North Korea already have sovereignty, as evidenced by their ability to vote.

Oh wait, the EU member states are not actually allowed to vote:

Yeah because comparing EU to North Korea isn't hyperbolic  Lips Sealed. The UK is still going to have to deal with their regulations and rules to access the one market, but now we're going to have no say on any of their regulations or rulings.

which earned massive protests from the eus constituent national parliaments to the extent that the belief in germany now is that ceta is dead and ttip is close to dead as obama is going and it's nowhere near done

and the uk as an entity with a complete lack of capability or expertise to negotiate trade deals can only dream of getting something as "good" as ttip lol

Bojo is out...

Quote
Ex-London mayor Boris Johnson has ruled himself out of the race to be the next Conservative leader and prime minister.
In a speech in London - billed as his campaign launch - Mr Johnson said he did not believe he could provide the leadership or unity needed.
It comes after Justice Secretary and fellow Brexit campaigner Michael Gove's surprise announcement on Thursday morning that he would run for leader.
Home Secretary Theresa May is among the candidates. Nominations shut at noon.

also national sovereignty isn't the same as sovereignty of "the people" obviously.

Of course not. And the sovereignity argument has nothing to do with the UK's current ability to leave the EU. Anyway, I won't jam the echoes any longer Wink

No, the ability to do something like that is literally what sovereignty is. If a nation can decide its fate/leadership it is sovereign, regardless of what agreements it chooses to be in.
