what version of wine do you use? i don't really use wine anymore (much better to just use boot camp), but when i still did, this thing worked great and was easy to use: http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php

I'm looking for a game that gives me a sense of wonder. Ideally this game would be in space with realistic orbital dynamics but that sure doesn't exist yet. And I'm taking any game in any other theme.
Already know: outer wilds, Kerbal space program, Orbiter.

What about Elite: Dangerous? I personally didn't get into it, but that's the only one I can think of fitting the bill. I hope Territory will be a include 'wondrous space exploration', but it's not ready yet

I couldn't get into it too. It looks beautiful, it could have been what I'm looking for but it focuses more on pew pew pew stuff.

Noctis ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noctis) Minecraft? Older Elites, such as II? Maybe the feeling is different. If you're interested in being immersed in a big, perhaps lonely, world where you can run into unexpected stuff, you might consider one of the Silent Hunter games, or even Falcon 4.0 (which has had an update recently). These aren't really exploration, but neither is Orbiter.

I will definitely check these games. From what I've seen in a video they might come a little close to what I'm craving right now.
I need something peaceful.

merged with existing thread. i think if you're looking for peaceful, noctis is the ultimate. no combat, trading or flightsim elements and only minimal resource management. you're just exploring a vast galaxy. the game has a feature to share your discoveries with other players (which works via email, this is an old game and probably a pioneer in "social networks" built into games), but i don't think it works anymore. there are several builds, the one you want is called NIVplus: http://mooses.nl/nice/relatedprojects/nivplus/

oh btw, not space themed, but you might enjoy endless ocean for the wii. that one is a great "ambient" exploration gam too.

Completely different type of wonder: Thomas Was Alone, maybe? Not open-ended, but a very peaceful puzzle platformer with a really nice storyline where you feel the sense of wonder of the protagonists.

Crystal Pixels - same guy that made Noctis. Much weirder, very explorey. No orbital mechanics, but inertia has to be taken into account.
Rodina - has a space-explorey thing going. A bit similar to Crystal Pixels actually in that you go around looking for story-bits in space. It's still alpha though and once you've played a bit you've seen pretty much everything. Not so much 'wonder' though...
