Over the past few weeks I've been working on an indie game updater (and an API which games can use to interact with it).  After my extremely unsuccessful attempts to get a private beta going via Twitter ( Sad ), I've decided to go with a public beta instead.

RoketPack (which is it's name) allows you guys as indie developers to automatically ship updates and new content to your games, without having to build an updater or deal with installers.  All you simply do is write a few XML documents, upload them to a web server and you're good to go.  You put each of the game's files up there individually, so the game client only downloads the files which have been added or changed.

If you're interested in the public beta (and it is a beta, so it will contain bugs and automatically report back stack traces), you can find the download link and some additional repositories to install over here Smiley.

Comments and feedback are welcome in this topic since there's no feedback utility in the client itself (other than the automated bug reports).  As it's a beta, there also might be the situation where you have to manually update it, so you should check back here in case that's necessary.

Looks interesting. Maybe I'll try this sometime.

I was hoping for something more invisible than this.  That said, it's looking cool and I may well have a look quite soon!  This is a problem I've wanted to address.
