Really nice, but it looks like the legs don't actually pass each other which seems really weird.

Love the rest of the animation and the character itself though!

A room

That's some cool art, Tony. Nice mini-pixel work!

What do you mean the legs don't pass each other? You mean there's no frame that shows the legs close together?

If you're looking at it the wrong way, it looks as if the legs never switch places, they keep "bouncing back" when reaching the middle. I see it fine unless I'm specifically looking for it, though.

There's also the light being cast on the one leg in front, which might help distinguish between the two, but again you kind of have to look for it.

Seeing the torso turning seems to cancel that though, like if you were able to cut off everything from the waist up it definitely looks weird.

Once you've seen it though, you can't unsee it.
As BLAMBO points out though, the movement of the upper body cancels it.

For clarification, this is what I see:

Not sure how you are, though; the leg facing the camera consistently has the largest areas of light on it, while the back is mostly dark.

The light on very dark pants is barely visible on a low or probably even average contrast monitor.

Ah yes, this makes sense.

Also I assume that the run cycle's not done, otherwise maybe that red skirt thing would better identify the front leg.

Working on an experimental project to create a procedurally generated metroidvania. This raises all kinds of questions about what makes metroidvania games fun and if I'm not getting rid of exactly those things in the process.

Working on revising the sub's interior a bit. Adding some pipes, rust, reworked the floor and wall tiles to make them appear less obviously tile-like, etc.

I find myself tweaking animations like these a lot. Sometimes it's more fun than balancing the actual gameplay, because there are less variables and it's easier to visualize what you want.
