I've just started making my first game in Unity. Right now I am building simple mechanics using downloaded content and then plan to design it on my own. Everything seems easy which is a little suspicious.

So, let me know what are the biggest problems of game developers starting from making the game until its publishing in promotion.

The biggest problem is LIFE - meaning distractions, procrastination, motivation, health, family issues, friends and so on.

Yeah, it's sort of writing a book. Easy in theory. Super hard in reality (until it isn't).

I actually did write a book last month and it wasn't so bad. Just kidding. It was horrible, exhausting, strained family relations to get done. And I could only get it done because there was a contract offering decent money for it.

The deal with games is that there's no guaranteed financial incentive or anything at the end of the day, unless it's a full time job or you have investors/crowdfunded/patreon-ed. So it feels like a pointless grind sometimes.
