Oh, if only all game developers would update their game and not just sell it and forget it. This is asking too much yet you deliver. I think I'll turn off the lights tonight and just play. Curious as to these secret missions..  Noir

I'm glad you appreciate the love I'm putting in my game Smiley

The updates adds "just" 2 missions: one is visible, the other is unlocked by finishing the former...

Hi all!

I'm working on the 10th update and, among the many improvements it brings, it also simplifies the menu a lot. Is there any kind soul willing to fix the errors in the German and Spanish translations proposed below (I'm sure there are quite a few)? Thanks a lot in advance!

The Spanish translation should be OK now, but the other ones still need some fixing. Thanks in advance to whoever will bother having a look at them Gentleman

I'd probably change SVÅRIGHET to SVÅRIGHETSGRAD but that might just be me. Personally I think it sounds better.

mmm... it sounds like "DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY"... right? If so, it certainly sounds good, but, since from what you say "SVÅRIGHET" is acceptable, I prefer avoiding the "GRAD" because the shorter the strings are, the better, as the menu interface and fonts aren't fixed in size (and, also, I prefer keeping translations as close as possible to one another).

I take the rest is OK? I'm pleasantly surprised Smiley

Thank you! Beer!

Yeah that's perhaps the most accurate translation. It is alright to say difficulty in Swedish but the general standard is probably svårighetsgrad. But it doesn't matter that much.

Yes everything else looks good.

Good luck! Hand Thumbs Up Left

    DIFFICULTÉ: normale/facile

Also:
Quote
   THÈME

    DEMAND DE NOM: toujours / par session / une fois

    CONTRÔLE DU MENU: standard/inversé
I feel these terms are a bit awkward, but it's difficult suggesting a replacement without having the context and the real meaning behind them.
Also: does "zoom" stand for fullscreen ?
fullscreen="plein ecran"

If "name request" means "login" you could also just use "login" in french I think.

As for the video settings and "THÈME", don't bother: originally they've been translated by a native French who owns the game.

As for "NAME REQUEST": it's an option that allows the player to specify his/her name once for all (once), once every time the program is started (per session) or at the beginning of each mission (always).

As for "MENU CONTROL": it's an option that inverts the up/down keys (menu lists scroll accordingly).

Thank you!

Hi all,

I'm very happy to bring more juicy news, which can be summed up in a couple of words: 10 updates! It's a big achievement which is self-celebrated by the massive amount of improvements brought by update10, released today.

More specifically, this update:
 * adds acceleration to the turning of the main character when standing (allows to turn by small degrees and, at the same time, to change totally direction more quickly);
 * makes enemy fields harmful like traps;
 * adds sound effects to enemy fields and conveyor belts;
 * improves the sound volume balancement of clusters of squares (enemy fields, conveyor belts and traps);
 * intensifies the hit sparks effect;
 * increases a bit the weapons shoot rate (so killing enemies is a bit easier);
 * replaces the "USE ENHANCED/STANDARD WEAPONS" option with the "DIFFICULTY: normal/easy" option, which affects also the spawning rate of enemies;
 * removes the "ENABLE/DISABLE BARRIERS" option;
 * adds the "NAME REQUEST: once / per session / always" option;
 * adds walls graphics to the themes "C64", "default" and "warm";
 * extends the illumination range of rotating lamps;
 * adds music and recoloring of graphics to the mission report screen;
 * adds 10 new short pieces of music;
 * improves some graphical elements, sound samples and music pieces;
 * simplifies menus and adds the number of the non-secret missions;
 * modifies the automatic theme switching so that it will not occur after selecting another video mode or another different automatic theme switching option;
 * optimizes slightly the graphical engine;
 * adds a new secret mission;
 * makes some minimal changes to a few missions;
 * updates and improves the manuals;
 * applies various other changes.

The update can be downloaded for free from the DOWNLOADS page of the official website at www.bohthegame.com.
The demos have been updated to reflect the changes.

Enjoy!

Awesome update. Just downloaded and played for a bit. The new pieces of music are nice.

Stupid me accidentally uninstalled BOH (meant to uninstalled bioshock but I clicked on BOH on accident..) so I have to go through and beat half the missions again, to find out which ones I did and didn't beat. It's a great game so I don't mind much. Gives me more of a reason to beat my old scores  Wink

To who likes secrets

Easter is coming and - guess what - there are two Easter eggs hidden in BOH, but nobody found them yet... who will be the first? Wink
(If nobody manages to discover them and anybody is interested, I'll reveal them on Easter.)
