Valve likely takes the same standard percentage during sales as not, people still get paid.
So if anybody here has a game on sale, hopefully they're doing well on it.

There are a couple I can think of, but I'm not sure...

Not everyone is going to want to release their real figures, and there are few here who have games on steam

Why so curious  Noir

Tommy Refenes revealed in this interview that Super Meat Boy has sold ~400,000 on Steam. The interview is from April.

What are the total sales number like on Steam?
TR: Just overall, we’re approaching 400,000. We can’t give specific numbers.
Not sure why you need them to turn up in person to say it.

it'd be interesting though to know what % of that was for a steam sale, and what % is at normal price. 400,000 copies at 15$ each means a lot more than 400,000 copies at 3$ each

in my own experience selling my own game (which is not on steam, i sell it through my site) typically about half of the sales come from special "sale price" events, and half are at normal price. i've had about 2000 sales for immortal defense so far, and at least 1000 of those were for pay what you want sales

OK Great can anybody do a non number specific noncomital basic answer. Geez whats with people not talking about sales are they that bad or that good?

I just want to hear it from one of the guys actually selling on steam. Even a simple comment would shed some light.

Right now I cant tell if steam is a dud or a great place to sell. IF no one will discuss their impressions or sales, then it doesnt seem very successful. If someone comes and says we sold a ton! then maybe it is successful.

Ive read a ton but I havent heard any small games claiming they made a decent chunk from steam.

HAS ANYONE HERE MADE OVER 200,000$ US $ from steam sales comissions?

can anybody currently selling on steam just state how they feel about their sales on steam?

Did anyone make enough to get a million from valve selling through steam?

jsut wondering if steam is a dud for  most developers or a great success for most developers. 400k sold units is huge for a single download site, but is that an outlier or do most steam games push 200k plus copies sold?

To my knowledge is is against the contract to state your sales figures unless valve wills it. So even if they are here, they shouldn't be allowed to post their figures.

If you make a million on Steam, then Valve wil probably pretend you ripped off TF2 and keep all the money for themselves

@MattG: Why is it so important that you know how well developers are doing on Steam? Have you been offered a deal to get your game on the service? If so then it certainly won't be a bad thing having your game on Steam. Even if the sales aren't great they are sales that you wouldn't likely have had otherwise.
