Congrats. I remember playing the first demo you had, and this has come a long way.

Bought it, like it so far. It's a tad buggy at some points and I recall a few points where the were dead ends with no things in them, but I am constantly intrigued by the game and compelled to play more today. I'll have to do a more comprehensive review after I finish.
Also I'd better get to find out what's up with that ghost.

Bought it. The core mechanics didn't really intrigue me, but the graphics and soundtrack made up for it. Also I'm a sucker for yume nikki type games, and the level design of this one wasn't half bad in the demo. So good work, I'll give a more comprehensive review once I get further along.
thanks! I would say the mechanics with fighting/dungeons are a weak point, they do not innovate a ton. However I do think a part of why we were able to finish is that I picked a simple set of mechanics to do in a pretty good fashion, rather than starting something unfinishable! And yeah definitely let me know your thoughts later. Bought it, like it so far. Let me know what bugs there are? [email protected] yeah let me know what you think as well. And the ghost...well...it is not explicitly spelled out but there is a reason for it! Not just a silly scare..

I really enjoy this game. Congratulations on finishing it! There are a lot of unpredictable elements that make exploring the world fun. Fore example, I found a strange heart on an invisible path, and a glitch world with a face smoking a cigar/ joint. Awesome.
I do have a question though- I'm at 37 cards and at the part where you have to "stabilize the arrangement." Maybe it's easy, but I can't figure it out. Is the answer in the area or hinted at somewhere else?

thanks amidos! glad you're that far, matt. i am sworn to secrecy on that part...and thanks jmcmorris, I hope we get onto steam, too...just...it seems so unattainable even with lots of support and positive reception so far. that puzzle requires thinking a bit on some of the major events that happened in the game. if you're still stuck after a while i can throw you another hint. glad you like it so far!

Hey, so I figured it out. The solution makes sense, but I thought it was needlessly abstract. I beat the game and I'm at 44 cards; the secrets are really fun. Hopefully I can get to 48. And then there's the other stuff... UPDATE: Got to 48 cards. There is a certain gate... haha this is evil but sort of cool.

Somebody started a thread over at NeoGAF, so you should hopefully get a decent amount of people checking it out from that.

ah, cool, neogaf thread. It's a really active forum! Thanksfully a few people are defending us over there. Not sure why people always get so uncomfortable with "artsy" stuff in games. anyways a kotaku article popped up: http://kotaku.com/anodyne/?post=57101743 Funny thing is there aren't that many zelda-likes ...at least from when I wa sasking around over development

I'm getting around to starting the game now. Really enjoying it. I haven't gotten very far yet, but I assume that the most of the main events are all corruptions of the player's childhood memories?
For instance, perhaps pushing the fisherman into the water is representative of how the player was playing around on a dock, and pushed someone into the water who died? I also felt like the orange area with the giant walking legs was a memory of a Savannah or some sort of zoo-like place. That, or the legs are of adults walking around the player? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing other player's interpretations of the events. I'm sure you are as well!
Also, nice binding of issac stage. Really looking forward to playing more.

Hm, interesting interpretations! I like them! I'm interested to see what people interpret the entire game, too. I have a lot of feelings I had while making lots of the things, sometimes specific, sometimes it was just what I felt like might express something - all trying to fit into these overarching themes I had floating around in my head. As for sales data, we're doing pretty good still! Definitely have one huge review lined up (won't be for a few weeks or so). Not sure otherwise yet!
