I hate it, but I will play it because it's Fallout in futile hope that it will revive the warm carefree days of my days spent with the first two.

THIS? OR FAR CRY 2? can't decide.... CAN'T DECIDE!! BRAIN ANEURYSM! The things I loved most about FO1 and 2 were the setting and grim story. And the fact that you can kick a rat in the crotch, or shoot a super mutant in the eye with a shotgun. Although the last point is no longer applicable the first two are. I can't wait! And I finally have a rig that can play it!

My copy is somewhere between wherever Amazon keeps its games and Kentucky. I live in Turkey. Go figure.

Hello, I am in Portland, OR. Tell me where your copy of Fallout 3 is, I will gladly take care of it while you are away. But really, no I can't play it either, my computer sucks ass and I have a Wii instead of one of those fun consoles

My feelings about this game range from nerd rage to apathy to amusement at just how bad it looks. Hopefully it will be quickly forgotten, now that it's actually out.

Aik, I'm pretty sure that "not looking like Fallout 1 or Fallout 2" doesn't automatically make it the most terrible thing ever. It's got a different aesthetic. Roll with it.
Also, what Don Andy said.

...I think he means how bad a game it looks, not the actual graphics which look fantastic.

I don't even care whether it plays in the Fallout franchise or not. It's a free-roaming game ala Oblivion with gorgeous graphics in a post-apocalyptic setting. What is there NOT to like about it?
I just hope they got more than 3 voice actors this time though.

I did mean how bad a game it looks (though tbh, the graphics aren't that fantastic either. Some of the animations ... seriously. Have a look at the in-dialogue animations in a game like Bloodlines and compare that to Fallout 3's, where everyone has one expression. Also, putting a shit-brown filter over everything does not substitute for good art direction).
The most terrible thing ever? Well, no, probably not. Taking such a symbol of everything that is good and right about cRPGs and turning it into *that* is a travesty though, and speaks badly about the state of PC gaming as a whole.

Eh. If you ignore the part about not being true to the classics, then I'm sure its not such a bad game. Oblivion - while not a spectacular game - was still good fun. It did some things really well (Assassins+Thieves guilds ) and I'm hoping fallout 3 is similar. I'm very much looking forward to playing it Edit: The reviews seem to speak pretty highly of the game.

Yeah I'm so uncertain of what websites to trust and not trust. I read kotaku religiously and they seem pretty reliable, but so much is personal opinion its impossible to rely on.

NOES, I intended to get this for PS3, seeing that it is as of now my favorite console (I have them all 3, before the fanboy shit slinging starts again), but after taking a look at this thread, I guess I'll just get the PC version. Little Big Planet and Dead Space for the PS3 it is then.
