I'm RafaƂ Tylko I'm from Warsaw, Poland.

I'm a philosopher by education and temper. I like to create different things but so far I never got to do it professionally. I tired different kind of small things: web design, drawing and comic, storywriting, boardgame design and now video games. I like game desing because it merges all possible aspects of creation along with some programming and hard thinking. I also like games because they provide a unique to other mediums form of expression trough mechanics and players engagement.

An incomplete breakdown of my history in video gaming:

My first games:
- Pong on some home device
- a number of games on Timex Sinclair
- arcade machines

Games I had lots of fun with other people
- Mortal Combat
- Sensible soccer
- Worms
- Scorched Earth

Games that shaped my expectations
- Civilization
- Sim City
- UFO Enemy Unknown
- Fallout 1 & 2

Games that showed me how the medium can be explored:
- Oiligarchy
- Undertale
- Inside

Hey all! my name is Chris! I'm 25 years old. Going to be married this summer and I am also the father of a wonderful 2 year old angel. She's my princess and gives me so much fulfillment and joy.

I am a Comp Sci student, graduated next year with my associates and pursuing my bachelors as well. My goal is to break into the game development industry and develop experiences for people that will be memorable and impactful. A story that is compelling and game play that is engaging. I have many ideas and I hope with the advances of technology, my ideas for my indie project will come to fruition and I will be able to share them with the world int he coming years.

Hello everybody!

I am Julien, a 25 year-old hobby game dev from France. Programming is a hobby but also a job for me.
Aside from that, I have also been drawing for a decade or two now.

Shmups are my favorite video games, so my first proper game project is unsurprisingly one. With the experience I have in this genre and the realization of what makes those games appealing to me, I set out to make my own shmup, named Remote Weapon GunFencer.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!  Smiley

EDIT: If any of you are developping shmups and would like somebody to playtest them, feel free to contact me, especially if your game is an arcade-style shmup.

Hello!

I'm Chris, I'm a 28 year old developer living in the Midwestern United States.  I've been making games for a long time - starting with board games as a kid, and continuing until today. When I'm not doing game development, I'm either at work building legal analytics software or at home with my fiance.

I tend to flow from working on one project to another.  I enjoy playing games, becoming engrossed in their mechanics, then attempting to recreate and improve on those mechanics.  I love understanding games through diving into their implementations.  I've enjoyed working on Interactive Fiction, RPGs, platformers, roguelikes, and sokoban style games.  Currently, I'm working on a metroidvania game, which is giving me the opportunity to use an Entity Component System in Lua via love2d.  It's been a lot of fun to learn a new language and get a game running in it.

Hello!

This is a share account for Polymer Games' community management team. We're currently working on our debut mobile title Polymer - a side scrolling bullet hell that's currently in open beta: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.polymergames.polymer It's a bit like Snake meets Geometry Wars on your phone.

Polymer is being made by one developer in a custom game engine, and the community management team currently consists of two people. We're hoping to get feedback from the TIGSource community to help the game's dev make the best final release version he can following the beta. We might also try chronicling the progress of Polymer's development in the devlog section as it moves toward a final version.

As far as who we are as people and gamers:

Russell

Hi! My name is Russell, and I got started in gaming at the age of 2 with PC games on a Windows 98 computer. Growing up, I loved Riven: A Sequel to Myst and this old platformer named Claw. As I got older, I began to play PlayStation 2 Games and GameBoy games, so some of my other favorite titles include Shadow of the Colossus, Pokemon Sapphire, A Link to the Past and Halo 3 (once my family got an Xbox 360).

I hope to continue helping game developers show off their games to potential fans in the future. Hobby-wise, I enjoy skateboarding and photography.

Heather

Hey! My name's Heather, and I started playing video games as a kid after my grandparents got me a GameBoy Color. My first game was Pokemon Gold. I couldn't figure out saving for like a year, so I kept playing the same parts over and over.

Some of my favorite games are Pokemon, RuneScape, Animal Crossing and Tony Hawk's Pro Skateboarder - they're all good.

Hey Guys! I'm Ben Peterson, I'm a HoloLens developer for Valorem and a long time hobbyist game dev.  I started out on GameMaker, but now I'm all about Unity. (still love 2d games though)

Just starting to get into networking code, (think more sql servers and rest apis than multiplayer right now) but it's pretty exciting to me since I'd considered it too difficult for a long time.

I'm here cause I wanted to share some of my games and give some feedback.  Grew up making games and browsing the most recent section of sandbox.yoyogames.com so it should be a fun throwback Smiley

I have some videos of my work on YouTube
And you can play my games on itch, gamejolt, or on google play

Hello,

My name is Arpad, 27, mobile developer for Android, and a wannabe developer for Unity-based role-playing games (I love the old-school isometric classics). I like reading, exclusively physical books with real paper (no reading on tablet except for small texts and online webpages). My other passion are classic CRPGs, including Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and currently Pillars of Eternity. Games I'm looking forward to the most: Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Pillars of Eternity 2, Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness. If you know about any other (indie developed) classic RPGs, please let me know.

Happy to be here!

Hello!

I'm a Seattle-based artist who's been working in and around games since 2010ish, when I started out in AS3/Flash.

Some stuff I've worked on in the past:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/286140/Eidolon/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/375950/Viridi/

Right now I'm working on Fire Place, which I want to finish this year, and Tenderfoot Tactics, which I am resigned to continue working on until I die (or maybe next year, but it's been at least 5 years at this point). I want to start devlogs here for both of these soon!

I love color and stories, and recently have been particularly obsessed with finding beauty in complex systems, an obsession I've been feeding by learning GPGPU via compute shaders in Unity.

Just remanifesting.  I am unsure what will come of this time.

How can my self be introduced having dropped the per-sun mask of person?
(person - Middle English: from Old French persone, from Latin persona `actor's mask, character in a play`).
A person is just a per-sun mask one don's (dawns) each day.  That's not a true self and is certainly not worthy of introduction.

Never liked those "person" things much, but I can see how they might be necessary to some.

I get the sense that few if any read these posts anyway, so there's that. And here is this.

After lurking for about a year I decided I needed to make an account and join in on the effort.

My gamedev journey started with my internship at Two Tribes where I worked on projects as Toki Tori and Worms. Fast forward a few years I co-founded Stolen Couch Games (SCG) with which co-created Kids versus Goblins, Ichi, and Castaway Paradise. My time at SCG ended early and now I'm happy working at Blue Giraffe where I'm 3D/tech artist and mainly do characters on the Hearts Medicine series

In my spare time I like to dabble with making game projects which mostly just get abandoned when I think of something new and want to test that out immediately. But I'm now working more serious on a few projects which I hope to be able to introduce to the world in due time.

In a twisted way I don't like to share personal projects dev-wise but I also don't want to do everything myself. I work in Unity3D/C# and 3Ds Max as my main tools, but I want to switch to blender for my 3D needs in the near future.

Game on!

Oldschool dev from before the Internet.  Made a few embarrassing "demos" back in the Demoscene days when "demos" still meant "tech-demos" not "game-demos".

Always wanted to take a demo and make it into a game, but just never got around to it.  I still have a little time left, so I might as well spend it planting my flag in the "indie gamedev" arena.  Maybe I'll bring back some retro flavor memories.  Really just want to breathe some new life into an old and dying artform...

Hello there!

Name's Daniil, but you can call me Darth Dan, or just Dan, or if all that's too much familiarity for you, you can just call me "my lord". That's entirely up to you.
In the big world I'm a student with a wide specter of knowledge and interests, which involve physics, programming, 3D-modelling, electronics, neural science, AI, and there's probably something I forgot to mention (although by now I only have solid knowledge of the first 3, rest is more towards the "interests" department, but I do intend on improving the situation).

My gaming experience has started from Nokia 3310's games, Snake and Space Impact being particularly of interest to me at that time.
Then I played a lot of Flash games on PC, most of them I have already forgotten, but one that left a mark was Raze, that's a very dynamic 2d shooter with a nice story to it and ridiculous ragdoll animations.
Another major "milestone" for my story in gaming was Portal 2. It stunned me with its' beauty and effect. From that point on, I consider myself a PC gamer. I doubt someone is interested in hearing the whole list of achievements, but if anyone truly is - just PM me, and I'll try to make it for you.

Game development - or rather, experimentation with possibilities - started for me with 3d RAD (the tool is no longer supported, but is a great sandbox I'd recommend to any starter - you can very quickly familiarize yourself with many aspects of a game's inner workings with little to none experience required).

Later I learned coding (my "native" language was - and still remains - PureBasic), and tried to make little games, but it didn't quite work out for me - the "games" had no dynamic and artwork wasn't really "art"... Well, that was just a child playing, so can't judge that really.

Next, there was Minecraft. That's something that I instantly thought - I want to improve upon that. I never really got into modding though, mostly because Java is not my cup of tea (no pun intended). But it gave me an idea of what a game could do.

Tried to learn Unity then, but abandoned it halfway, only coming back to it now.

Now we come to where I stand now. I have collected quite a few ideas that could become great games if done right. And I came here - because I don't know where to start. I have a lot of questions, and I'm about to start asking them - as soon as I finish this message (this is obligatory, after all...). I would be glad to recieve support in form of informatin or cooperation, and looking forward to talking to you all.

Oh, and almost forgot - there are also dragons.

A student?  Then I'll call you Padawan, and tell you the world is not big.  Welcome.

If you've made some progress towards these goals then we could become good friends:
Quote
with a wide specter of knowledge and interests, which involve physics, programming, 3D-modelling, electronics, neural science, AI
Especially the last two.  I use AI inspired by neuroscience in my programming and electronics projects.

For decades in games its been seen as "pie in the sky" to use "muh neural networks" for anything substantial.  It's an ideasman meme to my knowledge.  Game AI has been nothing like actual AI research for a very long time.  I feel that's starting to change, so good luck!

You'll eventually grow out of BASIC if you keep at it long enough.  I eventually grew out of all languages except my own.

Good afternoon everybody!

My name is Nehemek Amador. I study graphic design and make games on my spare time. When I was little I dreamed with making games and one day it being my full time. Life as always takes us to different directions but who knows, perhaps I do retake that old dream after all.
