Hi Everyone,

Octagon Games is excited to announce our new indie development. We are a small group of passionate individuals, bringing our expertise together to create a Kick Ass Game...

We started development in 2013 and it being early days wanted to introduce ourselves and share our progress as it happens.

‘Switzer’s Last Robot’ is a 3rd Person Action Survival game which focuses largely on fast paced combat and problem solving. The player takes on the role of Dr. Robert Switzer, a robotics engineer who built his very own robot company from the ground up. He is suddenly called to action when the robots, he worked so hard to create, begin a mutinous uprising.

Our main objectives are:

1. Create interesting characters & environments that are both believable and appealing.
2. Deliver an entertaining story that encompasses robots and the people who build them.
3. Engage users with intuitive mechanics.

For us to share our development process and for interested people to share their input
and feedback, we have created a development blog at www.octagongames.com and a Facebook page. Feel free to visit if you are curious and want more information. Look forward to your feedback and thoughts shared with us!

Thanks!

I like the artwork you have going. Particularly the 'tash wielding hero. He does have shades of Gordon Freeman not that is a bad thing mind.

Interesting having the hero the actual creator of the bad guys are you planning incorporating mechanics to reflect this? Hacking AI or knowledge of weak spots?

Also evidently Switzer wasn't a fan of Isaac Asimov.

Hi Cunnah,

Thanks! Can't really get into full detail about any hacking mechanics at the moment. The doctor would know how to take down a robot but, without revealing too much of the story, certain robots weren't created by him...

Our blog will be covering game design, mechanics, thought processes and overall approach. Essentially, how we intend to make 'Switzer's Last Robot' stand out from the other thousand robot games out there.
