Hello world,

we are new to this forum. As four passionated students from Trier, Germany (yes we are schnitzels), we will focus on creating indie games and web apps.

Currently we are working on the game In Between, a story driven puzzle platformer. It is in an early development stage. Check out our first prototype of the game: http://inbetween.gentlymad.org/

Here are also the direct download links for:

- windows: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/inbetween/InBetween_preview_win.zip

- mac: http://inbetween.gentlymad.org/download/InBetween_preview_mac.zip

- linux: http://inbetween.gentlymad.org/download/InBetween_preview_linux.zip

The game is based around the five stages of grief. The emotional stages everyone experiences when facing an decisive turning point in life. Think of it as a near death experience with compelling game mechanics and interactive cutscenes.
It is our attempt to integrate a sensitive topic, challenging gameplay and an emotional story into the genre of 2D plattform games.

Great visuals and music! The gravity flip puzzle mechanic works. Are you planning on having 5 different styles of puzzles, one for each stage of grief?

Both story scenes in the youtube video were very cool. I really liked the audio effect that happens as you walk beyond the wedding scene.

Hey jkd,

whoooop, whoooop thanks for your first comment. Grin What you said is actually really on point. The prototype only represents the basic mechanics of the game. It basically is a part of the tutorial. There are more interesting mechanics to come which try to represent the characteristic attributes of the different stages of grief. It is really interesting how the gameplay dynamics change when you add these other mechanics.

Also we are already working on a way to better blend the gameplay and story modes.

We are really glad you liked it and thanks for your post
