THE PITCH: Classic Megaman meets classic Zelda. (aka the bastard offspring of Megaman and Radiant Silvergun)

THE CONCEPT: A videogame where the player starts out as the immortal final boss and has to unlock the other characters by beating them in boss battles. Freedom of level selection allows the player to choose who to unlock; the final boss’ immortality allows the player to breeze through levels and take their time studying the characters they fight against, giving players a greater understanding of how they control and cutting down on tutorials. Conquer all eight starting levels and gain access to the final stage, where you can either take over the world or save it.

THE PROBLEM: Developing the game and making the characters unique and fun.

So there's a project I'm polishing up and hoping to have a satisfactory playable demo of by the end of July. I've refurbished an old Tumblr account to store updates and information on this game, so check it out for new posts on things like changing up weapons, power-ups, bosses and the likes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For the purposes of the demo you have access to all eight playable characters and two levels - the tomb level is a more wide-spread series of rooms to navigate through, involving combat and shortcuts for different playstyles; the forest level is an auto-scrolling level that tests the manic shoot-em-up nature of the game's basis.
