Okay so I've been developing a 3/4 tile set and some GUI, here's a screenshot:

I think I'll make the player card able to be flipped so you can see more advanced stats. Either that or I was thinking having a much more simpler GUI, a small portrait and just health / resource and have a player card shown if you want to view advanced stats.

Also I have levers working, with multiple levers able to trigger the same gate/door:

And a Zoom function so you can zoom out to see more of the area:

I changed the name (again) because of copyright issues, hopefully this one is final. I started on a Title Screen:

It's really basic at the moment, but I'll be working on a concept art piece to sit in the background that features the 4 heroes.

I also made the player able to walk behind the top of the walls slightly and I decided to simplify the GUI as it has to fit up to 4 players on the screen:

I really like where this is going! Looks great!

Can you port this to mobile devices (tablets etc.)? What is the technology behind it?

Regarding the title screen as a cheap alternative to the heroes: How about some complex zoomed out dungeons that scroll by in the background? I think it would add some nice arcade game flair.

I think it may look good if the dungeons would have a background color other than black. Maybe depending on the dungeon's theme.
The current theme might look good with #24180d.

Thanks Chromanoid! I'll have to look into mobile devices, I'm using Game Maker: Studio for development, I'd have to see about the network functions.

Nice idea for the menu, its certainly something to look into. As for the background colour I was using a lighter brown but it felt too washed out, I'll try the one you linked tho, as I think a subtle brown would fit in nicely.

Looks like its really coming together nicely!

My only gripe is the sense of scale. Compared to the knight, the barrels and boxes look like they're 12 feet tall.

Don't be racist, he is a gnome. Durr...?

Looks pretty interesting, like the editor (would love to play with it) and artwork as well. Hope to see more epicness. Smiley

@Premonster - Thanks!
@Razzek - Cheers, I'm going to remove the larger Crates and Barrels for this reason Smiley
@SoulSharer - Haha, doing a gnome would be tricky. Glad you like it, the editor needs re-working but I'm getting work in on my tiles and animations for now!
@Ndke - Glad you like it! Thanks Smiley

Thought I'd throw up some of the stuff I've been working on:

Player Block Animations

Idle to Block

Block Idle

Block Walk

And some Enemy Designs:

Range of Skeletons:

Spider .gif showing my crappy spriting method:

I also changed the title graphic to represent the new project name!

Did a second pass on some of the dungeon tiles! Re worked the floor, walls and pillars. Also added a subtle noise to the lights glow. Trap/Pressure plates are much harder to see now!

Also worked on some more enemy designs and added a new Hero; The Wizard!

I love the style. Do you use set rooms or generate them procedurally?

Looks great. Though one thing - its easy to predict next heroes, so there is no point in teasing? Smiley

@Cunnah - Thanks! At the moment I'm building them myself. I've considered and played around with randomly generating them, but for now I don't plan on having it. I will however have a map editor for people to make their own dungeons in!

@SoulSharer - Cheers! Easy to predict the next heroes eh? Wink I'm curious to your guess! It may not be what you think! Smiley

@Cunnah - Haha, damnit you're onto me!

I won't show off my cards just yet, we'll see if I'm a true oracle.
Looking forward to it.  Wink

Nice update! TBH I don't like the noisy look of the new tiles, to me the previous look is definitely more appealing.
