I cant help seeing a sleeping baby with wings on his head... sorry. everything else looks great, but the characters face is not what I would connect with thor. or is it a really young thor and I am not that far off? the sleeping bit might still be an issue though.

Reminds me of old Sega Mega Drive game about Asterix and Obelix. Love the art, but totally agree with the face comment - too childish.

The face matches the feel of the game. You're fine. The game has a great look overall. You have a broken link after Medos Gashi's link for Bots Boom Bang.
Structuring RPG elements behind levels is a really refreshing idea. I feel like most RPG games will lock you into one overall world with a hub inbetween. Demon's Souls is probably the only RPG I know that had literal portals to levels while also doing some amazing world building inbetween. Instead of making each level confined, it made each level feel bigger than they would be with one physically connected hubworld.
Cheers goodluck

Pretty excited about this one taking place!
I agree, the RPG elements will add a lot in between stages. Nothing wrong with a set amount of abilities/movesets/stats for side-scrollers, but adding elements of progression goes a long way! Looking forward to more, and I have you on notifications.

The pixel art looks great! I'm imagining some sweet chip tune music and a good flow of the game. Will keep track of this game.

This looks nice I'm actually working on a megaman-inspired Thor game as well, believe it or not!

Thanks for the feedback so far. As for the characters face: It's intended that it looks very childish. The game starts on Thors 8th birthday I'll try to edit the eyes so he doesn't look as he's sleeping. @Storsorgen: <CHALLENGE>Now, let's see who's going to finish his game first!!!</CHALLENGE> :-)

It truly has a SNES vibe. I dunno about you guys, but I was always going to Blockbuster to rent SNES games as a young age and always came across thousands of platformers with this art style. I was even victim to the notorious Wizard of Oz side-scroller.
It's looking fantastic in terms of design!

Sweet Henk arts. Player character not by Henk is he? Stylistically looks a little off.

Yes, player is not done by Henk. But we will probably replace him for the final game.

I have some exciting news to share with you guys: Chris Hülsbeck will be responsible for the soundtrack for Tiny Thor. I'm a huge fan of Chris and Henk since my early years, and having them both on board to work with me on my game is a dream come true.
