Rogue Legacy - feels repetitive eventually, in spite of random level structure, but it's a nice game.
1001 Spikes - Oh, it's on *rolls up sleeves*. Tough but satisfying.

Anxious to get Rogue Spear in the mail, so I went back to Takedown Red Sabre.

my biggest problem with rogue legacy was the grindy progression. i'm not fundamentally anti-grind but in this case it somehow made me burn out on the game pretty fast compared to e.g. spelunky. its probably because the grind in rogue legacy encourages a more "compulsive" style of play and makes it harder to "ragequit" if you're not having fun.

Yes it's kind of unique in that regard.

Got Tom Clancy's Ruthless.com in the mail today and played a few scenarios. I am not good at this game, I can tell you that much, but practice makes perfect. Just gotta figure out more of the ins and outs of the business world and spending and such. I'm enjoying it though!

Started playing SMT3 Nocturne. Great game so far, beat the first boss easily, but then I got cocky, visited the park and the underground mall without saving, and some red spirits kicked my ass and made me lose like half an hour progress where i had recruited around 5 more monsters. I didnt even save after killing the boss. ARRRGHH.

Just discovered you can add hi-res textures in N64 emulator. Look at those graphics:

its too noisy for my tastes and meshes badly with the low poly models and the lack of more natural shading

I played Ocarina of Time with higher resolution textures. Looked much better on a larger TV, especially the 2D icons, but I still like the original graphics.

Well, whole point was that hi-res version was garbage. It was just adding noisy random textures instead of original pixelarty tiles. I played Ocarina of Time with higher resolution textures. Looked much better on a larger TV, especially the 2D icons, but I still like the original graphics.
I tried cellpack, and while effects are better, its weird that they wanted to make it Wind-Waker with all fonts and one-color textures. Hyrule field looks like a green pool table.

the original OOT has held up pretty decently graphically as far as n64 games go imo. the ones that have held up best (excluding 2d games) are paper mario and banjo kazooie tho.

Playing SNES' Shin Megami Tensei. It's so archaic, but sooooo good.
