Currently I'm under the impression that only a minority of gaming women would be able to play my game, which is first person 3D and uses sprawling environments etc... it'll never run on mobile devices and onboard graphics chips
Oh well, maybe there will be more women playing games on semi-modern PCs and consoles by the time I finish it :-s I kinda count on titles like Mirror's Edge 2, Tomb Raider etc. to get more women to buy modern hardware.
Because having to develop for low-powered hardware puts a serious dent in game developers' options. I want to seriously consider adult women as an audience, but I also want the game to look excellent and use large environments with pretty lighting, which requires modern engines and a certain hardware level.
