We need a name for that effect that happens when you work on something for so long to make it look good but because you've seen it too much you can't decide if it's good or not

It's called being a perfectionist.

The individual rooms look pretty great, but the animation doesn't quite work yet. Similar to what others said, I think you need to show the roof and/or floor(s) rotating to make it really clear what's happening. Right now the rooms just look like they're sliding past on a conveyor belt or something, not rotating around. With that rotation, you're going to have to do some sort of distortion, pinching the sides of the rooms as they enter and exit. If you really want to explore that, you should look up the projections that happen in stitching together panorama images and then code either that or something that mimics the look. It's not super difficult to do the actual code. That said, you can probably achieve a lot of that with the other approach you mentioned, photographing a papercraft scene and then stitching them into a panorama.

Worked on this on and off for the past few hours out of boredom. Pretty happy with how it turned out, especially the bird.

"Time to post this online" perhaps. Or what Ingshtrom said. @Forstride: pretty nice. sun doesn't feel perfectly circular though dem spikey corners.

Worked on this on and off for the past few hours out of boredom. Pretty happy with how it turned out, especially the bird. Very cool. Reminds me of Kirby's Dream Fountain from Super Smash Brothers Melee. I agree with Geti - perhaps anti-aliasing the corners would be good. Very cool indeed. Great style. I just tried putting that texture on a cube in Blender. That would work well for getting the perspective. EDIT: But like has been said, papercraft would work. Nice simple animations, but the lighting could be a bit better. The mule's squatness when sitting down seems to disappear when walking, too. Also, being that the mule's a bit cartoony, maybe he could walk on his hind legs? Just a thought.

But jeah, you are right.

I love the idea, but I think you'll find you need your rooms to be wider with blank space in the 'corners', otherwise your furnishings overlap/collide unrealistically. Two things: • Your perspectives are inconsistent: some things show the left side, some the right, and some go toward a vanishing point. • A door would also be pretty important.
