So, has anyone seen this? (Sorry if it has been posted, a quick search turned up nothing.) New PixelJunk game: the idea seems to be to take one of those falling sand toys and turn it into an actual game. Looks quite nice, I think.

Seems they are having a naming contest to come up with an actual name right now.

(I'm not sure if I'm allowed by law to post Pixeljunk games under Indie games anymore, but eh.)

Wow :D That game looks amazing :D As for the naming contest, i'm almost sure it will become PixelJunk: Elements. I've scrolled trough the Sony forums, and this one has been submitted alot :D But the gameplay looks awesome Smiley

One problem I've had with Pixeljunk games is that they're made with NOTHING but large, high definition screens in mind. A friend of mine has a fairly good, but normal TV, and he can't enjoy Pixeljunk games for shit.

This looks very, very cool already.

And I think "Elements" is a cool name.

I just saw the video, what platform is it being developed for?

Looks very...strange? strange, but interesting.

one of those falling sand toys

To nit pick: the falling sand stuff uses cellular automata, and looking at the video it would appear that they're using smoothed particle hydrodynamics, i.e a "proper" fluid sim. AWESOME!!
