My team, the Mint Crew, needs a pixel artist for our game project, Twilight Crescendo

Our page is: http://project-garnia.deviantart.com/

Basic Plot:
Twilight Crescendo takes place in the town of Altair. The story follows one of four young heroes (Gladis, Tadd, Jenene or Wave), who was found under mysterious circumstances as an infant on the eve of the Twilight Festival. Sixteen years later, the next Twilight Festival is underway, but is interrupted by a terrible roar. Heading to investigate, our hero becomes embroiled in a conflict between the Stars and a lone Starsinger.

Genre: Action-Adventure/Beat-em-Up. The gameplay is a mix of the 8-bit Megaman games and Castlevania.

Job Details:

The pixel artist is responsible for characters & backgrounds. Our modeler will assist them.  This character is your audition. Please make an idle full-bodied sprite of her: http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/7304/gladis1.jpg

Please look at this (http://www.spriters-resource.com/psx_ps2/soulnomad/) and this (http://www.spriters-resource.com/other_systems/prinny/) to get an understanding of the sprite dimensions needed.

If you are interested, please send me a message.

(Our game has the possibly of being an XBLA (X-Box Live Arcade) title. One of our programmers has the means to do this. This means that even though the project is unpaid, we could all gain profit from the title release.)

I sent you an email reply  Smiley

Few questions...
Is this in Isometric or straight on? (the sprites you posted are ISO)

Also! If it's 8bit-y methinks the resolution of the sprites there are too high.

It's straight-on. But....it's not 8 bit at all.

Here's a little demo of Idle1 transitioning into Idle2.

Did it while I was watching TV  Tongue

Not bad, but the game's art style won't be like that. Is this the highest you can go?

I've not worked at a high aspect ratio than this.
And to go any higher, you start to move out of the Pixel Art realm and into the traditional animation realm, which I'm not trained in.

Like I said in my email

"I would absolutely love to join the team, but I don't think I can fulfill that particular look. "

We're still searching! As for the links given, those are just for dimensions, not style. So don't worry if you can't pull off the NIS style. You don't need to!
