Hello everyone! My name is Bryan Davis and I have a love for good games and great music! I work full time as a game composer, and love every minute of it. Music is something special, something magical. Whether we realize it or not, music has a huge impact on our attitudes and emotions. When someone is angry, often times they will listen to music that drives their anger even further. When at peace, many people will turn to soft strings or pianos to drift further into their blissful state. Sometimes, when people are having a bad day, they turn to uplifting and inspiring music to try and bring themselves out of the mire they’ve found themselves in. Our attitudes dictate the music we listen to and, in turn, the music we listen to dictates our emotions. Emotions, that is the role of music in video games. To create an emotional landscape for the player to dive into. As a composer, it is my job to create that atmosphere. To use my powers of audio manipulation to control the very emotions of every soul that plays your game (I feel so powerful!). Music is my passion, it’s what drives me as I journey through life. Here on this thread I'd like to share some of my music. I do hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you’d like to enlist my musical powers for your worthy cause (Gaming is a very worthy cause!), simply send me a message and tell me about your project. Most of my work is orchestral, but I do have a few chiptunes in my portfolio. If you don't hear what you're looking for, message me anyway. I love trying out new styles and am always looking for a new challenge to tackle! My rates vary depending on the project, but will usually fit any budget. So let's join forces, and together we shall conquer the world! Or…well…at least a small corner of the gaming world. Yes, that, we shall conquer! WebsiteDemo Reel

After a small hiatus I'm finally ready to open up for commissions again! And while I'm at it, here's a fun track I did a few months ago. Imagine walking through a swampy forest of strange trees and giant mushrooms. You can hear a small, lazy river flowing in the distance. The thick canopy above covers the forest in darkness, while glowing bugs and plants cast an eerie light on your surroundings. You walk through the mist, sword drawn, waiting for danger to strike. What was fun about this track was it was my first experiment in sound design. The crickets and dripping sounds were all recorded myself. It was a fun one to do! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/the-fungiferous-forest

Some time ago I did some tracks for a game that, sadly, ceased development. It happens. But I just realized that I've yet to upload them, many of which I'm particularly proud of. So here we go. This one's a battle theme that I thoroughly enjoyed working on. So listen to this track, head out the door, fight the good fight, and level up!!! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/a-swing-of-the-sword

Just finished this track a few days ago for a game in development. This was one of those tracks that was a real pleasure to work on. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did writing it. https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/the-rebellion

Oh wow, an entire month with no updates to my soundcloud! Well, that's what Christmas will do to you. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas full of love, cheer, and lots of geeky things under the tree. Here's a battle theme for the upcoming game Coerulea: The Rebellion. It's time to heed the battle's call! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/the-battles-call-coerulea-the-rebellion-ost

Well, I finally got around to putting a new demo reel together, something that was long overdue. Listening to this, I realize just how far I've come in the last year. I moved from Utah back to my home state of Missouri, had the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects, and have made the leap to full time composition. It's really an exciting time in my life and I'm looking forward to seeing just how exciting this next year will be. Enjoy! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/jan-2016-demo-reel

I was recently asked by a developer to create a few tracks for a little platformer game of his that's similar to Mario. He said he didn't want a totally chiptune track, but something that had a classic gaming sound. I'll be honest, I hadn't really done any chiptune music before. But, I was looking for an excuse to try it out, and this was perfect. So I did two tracks for him. They're kindof chiptune, but with a few other things thrown in. Anyway, the tracks turned out great and I learned that I love writing chiptunes. So expect to hear some more chippy sounds from me. I'm open right now, so if you need any chiptunes, or any tunes for that matter (my orchestra's still fired up and ready to go!), just send me a message. Anyway, enjoy my first foray into chiptune goodness! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/menu-super-oscarhttps://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/level-1-super-oscar

Last week I shared a nice peaceful town theme. Now it's time for a battle theme! This is an epic battle theme that could be used on just about any RPG. It's available for licensing, so contact me if you'd like to use it in your game! I'm also available for custom work, just send me a message! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/onward

I called this "A Little Stroll" because that's basically what I did, stroll through the piano. I simply hit record and just started playing the piano, having no idea where I was going and no plan for what I was going to do. Once finished, I recorded the cello and violin in to match the piano. It was a fun little experiment that I think turned out quite well. https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/a-little-stroll

Here's a simple little demo I wrote recently for a potential client. I didn't have anything truly "epic" yet, so I figured now was the time. I also had some new choral samples I hadn't used yet, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to bust them out! This track was SO FUN to write, and I look forward to doing more like it! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/the-chosen-oneConsider me if you need a trailer scored. They're fun!!!!

Wow, almost an entire month with no new music! I'm almost having composition withdrawals! March was a crazy month with all sorts of personal things to deal with. So, naturally, music was put aside for a little while. But I'm back, and have some new tunes to share! I've also got time to take a few more commissions, so if you need some great music at an affordable rate, send me a message! https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/title-theme-nitl

Cave themes are always fun and can vary greatly from one game to the next. This was my take on the music of the caverns. This track is available for licensing. Contact me for info. https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/deep-caverns

Here's a different kind of battle theme. This one took a more jazzy approach. I've never composed anything Jazzy, but I'm happy with how this one turned out. https://soundcloud.com/bakudamusic/a-little-trouble
