Games have come a long way with accessibility options.  I've seen a lot of games include an Arachnophobia mode.  I'd like to see games start include a Thalassophobia mode.  In no small part because I have Thalassophobia.

For those of you that have Thalassophobia what specific problems do you have with the water?  These are mine:
- When you can't see what's below the surface and you enter the water
- When you can't see the ground below your feet in the water
- When you have limited visibility in the water

Any ideas what settings would help?  Have you seen a good example?

I assume such a player would avoid playing games that feature the ocean prominently, right? Or they are afraid of the ocean, but they want to play games about the ocean? Like my cat hating water but also being fascinated by it?

It's Subnautica. That is THE thalassophobia game.

What else is there to ask?

Obviously it'll be a game in an ocean, probably with big scary things inside it, and scarier horrors the deeper further you go.  Tears of Joy
