Well done. I can't help but think that the animated shadow on his thigh around 1:08 looks a bit odd.
Looks pretty solid deffo though. (I especially like the transition to nighttime...).
also: what exactly is bothering Carl?

I love the parallax zooming. Also I'd really like to know what's bothering Carl.

Really nice, the work that must've gone into making this... I kept thinking "what, oh what is bothering carl" could end with "he is a mighty, mighty minotaur"

Whoa, impressive work. Can't imagine how hard it must've been to make the lips match the sound so well, especially since you even animated the tongue, which is crazy.

Actually, I only used 8 different mouth positions (phenomes) for each character . Here is the chart I used: You'll see it actually has 10 positions.... I actually combined the A and I position with the E position, and the U position with the O position to limit the number of mouths I had to deal with. There are no in-between frames on the mouths, it just pops between the 8 images. But people (and especially rapping birds) talk so fast that it is still convincing. The tough part is timing all the positions correctly. You want them to trigger a frame or two before the sound actually starts, and end a bit before the sound ends to look the best. The tongue animation was not really difficult, since it is just a by-product of painting the mouths with the tongue in the correct positions, but I am glad it looks more impressive than it actually is

Not so secret anymore, now is it? The video is nice, though! Made in Adobe After Effects?

Haha, I love that video.
Couple of crits. The medallion around the birds neck clips with his neck a lot, which lookd bad. Also when he shuts his eyes it looks like he's just got empty eyesockets rather than lids covering his eyes, maybe the lids should be less dark? Apart from that it was great. Really cute style that fits the music perfectly.

I love the animation! Very well made. The vocalist in the actual song is though... well... not so good. I'm sorry

I agree. The animation is neat (although the guy creeps me out) but the song itself feels like the melody came first and then you tried to add words on top of it and the singing wasn't too good.
It sounds like the type of thing that should rhyme but it doesn't and a lot of the words kinda feel like they don't fit in with the beat.

The animation is super. the song itself feels like the melody came first and then you tried to add words on top of it Agreed... BUT... the song is, strangely, really damn catchy none the less. I watched the video a few days ago, and now every time I see this thread title, or even at just random moments throughout the day, the song will stick in my head and refuse to leave.

the song itself feels like the melody came first and then you tried to add words on top of it Which is not always bad! For example "Don't Let's Start" by They Might Be Giants was made like that, yet it is still a great song.
