Everything looks good, but I guess I'd say that about any Souls game. The potions will probably be like grass in DeS, which is a pretty meh mechanic, but hopefully it doesn't mess with things too much (like invasions, trying to kill people having 99+ healing items is pretty lame). As for transforming weapons, I guess they seem dumb immersion-wise but actually using them will hopefully confer enough depth and variety in the moveset to justify it. Kinda like if everyone had a Santier's Spear, that would be cool. Anyway if everything looks good I will buy this and try to play it on my friend's PS4. I did the same for DeS (bought it and borrowed a PS3) and I don't regret it. I probably had ~10x as much humanity in the patched version than I had on the PS3. Yes, I remember the unpatched version and how stingy they were with humanity (and souls to an extent). When I'd watch people play the game after me I'd always be surprised at how much humanity they'd have sitting around.

I finally beat Dark Souls 1. On the PC. With keyboard/mouse.
I had the PS3 version of DS1, and had previously gotten stuck at Ornstein/Smough on no less than 3 separate saves, but I finally managed to break through on the PC. Everything after that was a bit of a joke, honestly. wow youre worse than me haha also does that mean you had the completely unpatched version? like even without the day 1 patch? ouch. :P also you think ds2 is better paced???

Yeah, no day 1 patch. Original, raw, unfiltered DS1.
I do. I felt that everything after O&S was way too easy/quick. It felt like ticking off check marks from a grocery list. "Oh, I remember that fog I couldn't get past before, time to go back there"
Beyond the enemies in Duke's archives and the ghosts in New Londo, I'm not sure I fought a single non-boss enemy after O&S. Maybe it was just me, but it just felt way too front loaded, where DS2 seemed pretty evenly paced.

the late game in ds2 is a freaking slog imo, but ok. i think one advantage 2 has over 1 is better gear balance, simply because it's had more patches and from is doing some extensive data mining.
maybe you were just overleveled after laurel & hardy considering how long it took you to take them down? i won't lie, i think theyre the hardest boss in the regular game but i actually have less trouble with them than some of the easier bosses because ive fought them so often, so i know the fight inside out pretty much.
did you even try the dlc areas?

Well... I just 100%'d Dark Souls 1 on PS3. I kinda felt like I had to, I've played too much of it to not go for it. Although, this is the first game I've gotten every trophy for. I guess I like Dark Souls. Closing the book on it feels like perfect timing too, with Bloodborne dropping so soon. I'm so hyped.

I haven't gotten around to the DLC yet, since I've been saving it for the new version. Is this fume knight really as hard as people say? Is he harder than past souls bosses?

i stopped playing because i got stuck. i am actually trying again now haha. im stuck on fume knight again btw, despite "downgrading" to ng. i think im just going to finish the iron king dlc last. i heard theres a way to "cheese" him by buffing your fire res as much as possible. I haven't gotten around to the DLC yet, since I've been saving it for the new version. Is this fume knight really as hard as people say? Is he harder than past souls bosses?

I started and finished the DLC during February but I apparently missed at least one part in the last DLC.
Anyway it is indeed the parts that are the most interesting in DS2 to me, mainly because they have their own consistency, a bit like Demon's Soul different parts. However except for some bosses, the focus on humanoid ennemies and bosses is definitely annoying. Except that badass boss with his big sword which felt totally epic. The sleeping dragon battle was a joyful experience to me.

Watched a Bloodborne stream for a bit.
Resounding "meh" from me. Difficulty has been toned down significantly and loading screens are anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute long.

The DS has always been harder to me than it appears to be in streams. But I guess we'll find out.

honestly its almost impossible for me to tell how hard a game is from watching a stream of someone who is reasonably good at it.

Also if the new combat means things don't feel as difficult, that's honestly fine by me. I'm just happy to see a new kind of take on the Souls style game.
