I have it downloaded, all the system requirements are met, I've even set my colors to 16 bit, yet when I run it... nothing happens. It shows up in my processes, but I don't see any game.

Are you on Vista? If so, you may need the vista GM converter. I don't have a link at the moment, but it will solve your problem.
