Runaway make games inspired by nature for mobile devices. Our team strive to create fun and highly polished gameplay experiences that give our players a window into incredible real world ecosystems.
We’re looking for passionate and creative programmers who can join us in extending our portfolio. Come and work in a challenging and fun environment with a vibrant and talented team of engineers, designers and artists.
Role:
To work with the game designers to quickly implement and iterate on gameplay concepts for a series of nurture-style free-to-play games based on environments from nature. Take these mechanisms from initial playable through to final high quality product.
Essential Skills:
- Experience programming fun gameplay experiences (please provide playable with your application)
- Ability to iterate on gameplay concepts quickly and test results
- Team player able to honestly and effectively communicate with a tight team
- Highly motivated self starter
- Passion for game development and creating great user experiences
Preferred:
- Experience with C/C++, LUA and Javascript
- Shipped titles on iOS or Android
Our team is based in Dunedin, New Zealand. We are willing to relocate strong candidates if required, in the case of exceptional candidates it may be possible to work remotely.
This is a freelance contract role with an initial contract of 9 months. There is potential for further long term contracts based on the game’s performance.
