So my upcoming game "Harmoniums" is going to need quite a few little creatures and as I have no spriting experience I thought I'd let the Art community take a crack at it. More info about the game can be found here. (Also, yes I know this a cop-out, but I just had 5 teeth pulled and honestly I'm near dumping the game at the thought of needing to complete a ton of these little fellows. Which would suck considering the other 60% of it is done.) The template for the creatures is simple. 16x16 for the eggs 24x24 for the youths 32x32 for the adolescents 48x48 for the adults (Again this is subject to change if someone comes up with a better idea.) Here's a basic example for the sizes. Ideally these guys would have 2~3 frames of animation each, just a little wiggle in 'em if you know what I mean. Anyway, go to town, have fun. No worries about palettes or anything but colors with a saturation around 80~90 would be nice to avoid eye-sores.

Yaaaaaay! I'll make sprites for these, but I can't help but be bothered by the size. I was thinking something more like: 8*8 for eggs 8*8 for youths 16*16 for adolescents 32*32 for adults Just a thought, I'm not sure it will work out great. I'll make some size comparisions. Edit: Never mind, heh. On second thought I think your measurements will work the best- it's hard cramming enough detail in here to create variety and personality.

@Ashkin, yeah I think it works out pretty well. And no worries, mine are always awful so I think anything you guys make will turn out well.

Here's the egg and youth stages of a critter! I plan to make it evolve into a phoenix-type thing in its later stages, so I hope I can pull that off. Edit: What is this this is not a phoenix OH WELL Adolescent: Mature: I'm not sure this is even the kind of thing you want- tell me if it is, because that would be cool. I'll probably make another tomorrow.

These are both great! Exactly what I'm looking for! More of this! Encore! Maybe some robits or zambies. Also, @eigenbom you should do a moonman one.

Aw darn, I wanted to do a slime one. I like the idea of two colours + black outline- it would keep the style fairly consistent. I can redo my old one to those standards if we reach a consensus.

I really have no interest in complete style consistency. Nor do I have a problem with multiple slimes. Really, just make new ones instead of recreating the old ones. I'm going to a take a few stabs at this myself tomorrow when I feel better. This is one of those instances where I feel quantity is better than quality, if I end up with a few bidoofs and zubats in the mix I'll take what I can get. 12:08 AM here now.

Working on it, captain. EDIT: 3 out of 4 minus animations. I'll try and finish up tomorrow. I'm happy with the egg and the youth, not so much the adolescent

I hope this is as dirty as it sounds. Not so much with the adolescent... Maybe that's because he doesn't look so happy either...

Eh, it's not terribly restrictive. I mean going smaller really isn't an issue. And again, anything helps. Teeth are feeling a bit better for those of you who've asked. I figure if I'm at the point where I can stand to play LOL then I'm healthy enough to start work on this again.
