Hey guys... I'm working on a mystery crime game with mini games you can play in between the main missions

I decided to release an early build of the beginning of the game.

You can download it here

http://istanaangin.itch.io/detective-campbell

The story centers around the daily live of Detective Campbell and this time around particularly, he is having a crappy time. He is investigating a child kidnapping case. The game will explore the dark side of humanity and the state of Campbell's heart.

I am planing to update the game on a day to day or weekly basis and will post the dev logs here

I'm thinking of working on save/load system... but maybe it's too early to include it now

Just tried your demo. I don't know if i missed something, but i couldn't get past the room with the red bed. I couldn't interact with it.
The shooting was fun in a silly way - almost like QWOP, with the limited aiming controls.
What was going on in the track? Is he drunk? He kept running in circles.

I think you need to change the control scheme. Firstly, change down to 'S' instead of 'X', unless you have a very good reason for doing it. Secondly, when pressing UP i expect to either move up in the screen, relative to the camera or that the character walks forward. But it seemed pretty random from scene to scene which way was up.

If I were you, I'd work a bit on the controls, before doing the save system.   Coffee

Yeah... you can interact with the bed... the sensors is kinda off.. u must be close to it... will update that

there's a way to finish the lap... hopefully it does not piss off people... suppose to be the challenge

I hear u with the control... the idea is the starting front position of the scene will be the D key... but I understand, it's confusing

Thanks Smiley

Added new scenes and invisible walls

I'm getting too comfortable with this simplistic look

dunno if that's a good thing or a minus

I want to know, is it reasonable to not include invisible walls for gamers of this day and age?

meaning if they wonder of too much... don't expect the camera to follow them

If it looks like I can walk right, I'll probably try to walk right at some point. I would say that making it clear that I can't walk in that direction with an invisible wall is better than my character leaving the camera.

Working on this I had decided on some changes...

In the beginning, I was inspired by the success of games such as Octodad and Qwop, thus decided to focus on working on comedic gameplay elements. However, right now I believe it is too gimmicky.

So i had altered the design so it could become a more serious.
