A while ago, i offered to finish up all the little details that still haunted Naija, but Derek told me he preffered to do it himself. Im sure he got caught up in work or something, and seeing as i have a bit time off this weekend, ill try and catch up with those things.

That would be great I'd be drooling at the statement "we have completed our first character"

Oh man don't subject yourself to that awful GM image editor. Get the GGale trial and export the animation strips, then import them into GM.

Game Maker's image editor is actually pretty handy. Why fix what's not broken?

Game Maker's image editor is actually pretty handy. Why fix what's not broken? if you've actually used ProMotion or GraphicsGale, you will definitely see the difference.

Yeah, gotta hate the resizing. In that respect, MS Paint is better.

I tried to make a wall-slide sprite but when I save it the picture messes up. I've tried save as every type of file, but none of them work. (and I had to recolour it like 5 times ) This is the picture that looked best, so could someone else fix the colours for me? Also, this is pretty much my first time doing pixel art, so thats my excuse if it sucks.

What program are you using? I've never had that happen to me before (I generally use Graphics Gale or GIMP). Don't worry too much about the colors, though, since that's easily fixed.
That's a good start, but you'll want both legs to be attached to the wall. Otherwise, it doesn't look like she's holding on very well.

There we go. Good job with the posture, mokesmoe, but whatever graphics program you're using, it's rather lossy.

I'm using paint on vista. I blame vista more, cause this never happened to me on xp. I think it's because I didn't change the palette, so it changed the colours to fit the default palette. In fact, vista doesn't have any of paints shortcut keys, like for eyedropper. And go ahead and laugh at for using paint, I don't care.

I tried changing the colour palette, and it worked, so that must have been the problem. This one looks better IMO Here's both of ours together for comparison: I like both images, but the shading on my legs isn't very good. Good job with the posture, mokesmoe
Actually, this is changed very little form the idle picture. (though not the first frame, for some reason) I completely redid the right leg and arm (our right), moved over the left hand and added a toe to the left foot. Her body, head and left leg are completely untouched

Originally, I was going to just fix the colors on your image and leave be, but it just doesn't seem natural to slide down anything using just one arm and one leg. Probably from playing a lot of Mega Man X, but that's just the most comfortable posture for me. EDIT: Fixed the weird shading on her legs, among other things.
